Back Bay Ringers is pleased to introduce the Back Bay Carillon. This new ensemble, which will rehearse on Wednesday evenings, is intended to provide an engaging opportunity for ringers to participate in a community-based ensemble for a variety of Boston-area performances. The Carillon will focus on providing an energetic and enjoyable ringing experience while performing at Boston-area landmarks such as Bells of Boston at Fanueil Hall Marketplace and the Boston Children's Museum. The Carillon will also be available for local church services as well as corporate events and weddings. In future seasons, Back Bay Carillon will also be featured on the BBR holiday and spring concerts.

Back Bay Carillon will be directed by Back Bay Ringers artistic director Griff Gall during the 2007-2008 season and will build upon the musical standards that are the basis of our organization's reputation. The Carillon will also help its ringers develop healthful and musical ringing techniques and is the perfect ensemble for local handbell directors who would like a chance to be "on the other side of the table."

These new opportunities are integral components of the mission of our growing organization. We are excited to provide Boston-area handbell ringers with a variety of ringing experiences that will focus on maintaining a high level of musicianship and creating an enjoyable place to make music together. The Carillon's first rehearsal will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 on Wednesday, September 26, 2007.
