Griff's picks for dinner:
Staying for the concert? Why not take a short ride on the T into Boston and try one of our favorite restaurants. Our Artistic Director has listed his favorites here!
$ On a shoestring budget.
$$ Not bad for a good dinner in Boston.
$$$ So you want to make this a special night on the town!
Take the T to Kenmore (Just make sure there is not a game that night!)
Eastern Standard $$ Dining in Kenmore Square. So this might not be the best choice if there is a Sox game, but this swanky French bistro has both wonderful entrees and classic cocktails.
Boston Beer Works $$ This brew pub offers you're basic pub fare done right! Great burgers, wings and other comfort classics served with their own craft made beers. Try the blueberry beer with real blueberries floating around (if your not allergic to blueberries like I am!)
Take the T to Hynes Convention Center
Charley's $$ Great burgers, onion rings, dinner salads and plenty of other comfort foods on this menu.
Capitol Grille $$$ One of the two fancy pants steak houses I put on the list. It's just great steak! (Although maybe $$$ is not enough...)
Steve's Greek $ You must try the homemade potato chips!!! Everything here is good. This is high on the list of places I like to stop for lunch while shopping on Newbury Street.
Kashmir $$ Wonderful, fragrant Indian cuisine right on Newbury Street. If you enjoy Indian food this might be the perfect choice for you!
Take the T to Copley
Bouchee $$ Ok, so this is truly one of my favorite spots to grab a bit to eat before rehearsal. In fact you can find me here just about every Wednesday enjoying mac and cheese, or their fabulous burger, or duck confit salad, or steak frites! I love it here, and you have to try the Sparkling Apple Martini!
Sel de La Terre $$$ This comfortable bistro is the little sister to L'Espalier, one of Boston's most celebrated French restaurants. Sel de la Terre, located in the posh Mandarin Oriental Hotel, is the place to go for a relaxing, well prepared meal featuring local produce and French inspired food. The bread alone makes the experience memorable!
Vox Populi $$ A sophisticated martini bar scene with a wonderful menu including a Chicken Oscar that combines moist, crispy chicken, crab risotto with asaparagas and bernaise sauce. There martini menu is fun as well!
Abe and Louies $$$ So this is the other fancy pants steak house that made my list. Ok, honestly, I've never been here, but it is a Boston staple, and I have heard nothing but great things about the service and the steak.
Pappa Razzi $$ Delicious, standard Italian food. You can't go wrong with a good pasta dish! If you go, you must try the Tiramisu.
Tapeo $$ A Newbury Street mainstay. This Spanish tapas restaurant is a fun way to enjoy a meal with friends. Great sangria!
The Upper Crust $ Not as snooty as it sounds! This place has delicious pizzas, good salads and a fun, very casual atmosphere.
Take the T to Arlington Street
Parish Cafe Ok, so I'm having a hard time deciding one $ or two $$. But here is the deal. You will not find more interesting sandwiches anywhere else. The crew at Parish asked local chefs to create unique sandwiches that reflect the chefs style. Sandwiches run around $12.00 and are quite wonderful. My personal favorite is The Zuni Roll!
