April 2014 Newsletter

Dear Friends of BBR,

It’s been a long but exciting winter for BBR–did you see our appearanceon 48 Hours?–but at long last spring has arrived in Boston in earnest.

With warmer weather comes anticipation for our spring and summer concerts and events. This year, we’re celebrating the old and the new as we continue commemorating our tenth anniversary.

By now, the Boston Handbell Festival has become an annual tradition for many musicians and fans in in our area. We love co-sponsoring this beloved event (which this year features Raleigh Ringers director Dave Harris) and we also enjoy commissioning new works, which is why we’ll be premiering a brand-new composition by Michael Helman at a day-long celebration at beautiful Salem State University that also features a workshop with this renowned composer.

Suitably, our tenth-anniversary concerts have the theme of “Reflections.” Come see where we’ve been and where we’re going at a BBR concert this spring!

November 2013 Newsletter

November 20, 2013

Dear Friends of BBR,
We’re pleased to announce the release of our third recording, Comfort & Joy. It’s been a project two years in the making, as we’ve selected our favorite holiday repertoire from the past few seasons and recorded them at WGBH’s fabulous Fraser Performance Studio. We’re really proud of the recording, and we can’t wait to share it with all of you! Make plans to attend our concert and CD release party to pick up your own copy (and a couple more for gifts!), or, if you’re unable to attend our concerts this December, copies of the CD are also now available for order on our website. We hope that listening to Comfort & Joy becomes part of your holiday tradition this year and for years to come!
