Donna Matson

Donna Matson

Executive Director

Donna Matson is the executive director of the Back Bay Ringers organization. She was introduced to handbells through her children’s involvement in a church ringing ensemble, and has been ringing ever since, including a time with a group while living in Tokyo! She joined BBR in the fall of 2007, first with Back Bay Carillion, and subsequently with the BBR ensemble, signing on as the organization’s Treasurer and Executive Committee member since 2008. She has attended five international festivals, and festival conferences in both the Area I and Area II geographies, but her proudest moment as a handbell artist was in partnership with Eileen Laurence of Katonah Presbyterian Church (New York); they brought a 3-octave set of choir chimes to a charity in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Just ask Donna to show you a video of the beautiful music they make!!! She and her husband Bill enjoy splitting their time between the bustle of Boston’s South End and the quiet of Grantham, NH.
